Eusebius. Contemplative, introverted, docile, predictable.
Florestan. Fiery, paranoid, spontaneous, unpredictable.
Two diametrically opposed characters. A special point of existence and encounter. The mind of Robert Schumann.
Two voices, two imaginary companions who are always there. In certainty and in doubt. In inertia and in creation.
Based on the idea of the artistic director of ELSON and the Corfu International Festival, Dionysis Grammenos, ELSON collaborates with Aimilios Chilakis in the role of the great romantic composer, in a work that harmoniously combines music and theatre, creating the "perfect concert". A selection of his chamber music works with a parallel narrative of his life. Among them are the Kreisleriana for piano, songs from the Dichterliebe (The Poet's Love) cycle, the Quartet for strings, the Fairy Tale Pictures for viola and piano, and the Five Pieces in Traditional Style for cello and piano. Pianist Alexia Mouza and soprano Anni Fassea participate, while the text is signed by Chrysa Xourafa.
A performance with seemingly opposite concepts and data through which an unpretentious realism emerges.
On Wednesday, 21 December, at the Municipal Theatre of Corfu.
