Jewish Quarter

The Kantouni of Agia Sofia is located in the history-filled jewish quarter, in the heart of Corfu's Old Town.

Its location belongs to one of the most atmospheric neighborhoods - an authentic part of the city and the stories behind it, a peculiar tangle of narrow "kantounia" (small streets), high-rise old houses, hidden flowered courtyards, simple taverns, and ruins of half-ruined buildings, squeezed under and beyond the New Fortress. Inside the so-called "Ovriaki" neighborhood where the jewish community of Corfu lived, flourished and was expelled and where the tour is not only a beautiful walk, but also a real journey of knowledge about the past and the history of the island.
