Municipal Gallery of Corfu

In the eastern wing of the Palace of the historic city of Corfu, is hosted the Municipal  Gallery. It presents works of historical retrospection in the development of painting and engraving in Corfu (16th-20th century). The Gallery's collections include those of sculpture and artistic photography as well as works of contemporary artists exhibited in temporary exhibitions. Part of the engraving collection has been exhibited since November 2008 in the historic building of the Ionian Parliament. The collections are made up of purchases from the Municipality of Corfu but mainly from the very generous donations of artists and families of the Ionian Islands. Recently, the collections have been enriched by members of the Association of Greek Printmakers as well as by donations from artists who exhibit at the Gallery's temporary exhibitions.
