PHILHARMONIC BAND

The Music Groups of the Philharmonic Bands of Gastouri & Kinopiastes, inextricably linked to the tradition of the island of Corfu, present two concerts (13/08 courtyard of the Church of St. John of Kynopiastes and 20/08 Central Square of Gastouri).

The concert in the Central Square of Gastouri is part of the events planned to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Gastouri Philharmonic Band and the celebration events of the village's and Philharmonic’s Protectress. The partnership with the Kinopiastes Philharmonic Band is the implementation of a very old dream, from the time when the teacher of both Philharmonic Bands was the honorary chief musician Vassilios Kritikos. But it is also the result of the friendly relations created between the staff and members of the two orchestras, as expressed through exchanges, collaborations and joint actions over the years.
