POETRY FESTIVAL

Corfu, the Island of Books.

This year's Corfu International Poetry and Prose Festival is dedicated to Titos Patrikios, the Year of Alki Zei, Balkan Literature and special books.

Thus, for one week, from Monday 30 October to Wednesday 1 November and from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 November, Corfu becomes the Island of Books, with two festivals, an ambitious programme and many important events.

ALL EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE IONIAN PARLIAMENT, at 19:00.

MONDAY 30 OCTOBER
A remarkable poet from Albania, Luan Xhuli, presents his work. The teacher and writer Katerina Christogerou will speak and poems will be recited by the actress Thomie Karydi.

TUESDAY 31 OCTOBER
The poet Tasoula Tsilimeni presents her collection "The voicelessness of the Afternoon", Mandragora Publications. Dr. of History and Archaeology, Kostas Soueref, will comment and poems will be recited by the actress Christina Rokadaki.

WEDNESDAY 1 NOVEMBER
The most important living Greek Poet will be honored by the Mayor Mrs. Ydraiou, will discuss with the writer and journalist Minas Vintiadis and his dear friend actor Michalis Mitrousis who will read his unpublished prose. His poems will be greeted and recited by the Artistic Director of the Corfu Municipal Theatre Barbara Doukas. Finally, he will answer questions from those who honour him with their presence and will sign his books.
