Corfu, the Island of Books.

This year's Corfu International Poetry and Prose Festival is dedicated to Titos Patrikios, the Year of Alki Zei, Balkan Literature and special books.

Thus, for one week, from Monday 30 October to Wednesday 1 November and from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 November, Corfu becomes the Island of Books, with two festivals, an ambitious programme and many important events.

ALL EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE IONIAN PARLIAMENT, at 19:00.

THURSDAY 2 NOVEMBER
A tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alki Zei with the participation of her dear friend Titos Patrikios and the writers who have come to the island. University professor Tasoula Tsilimeni, director of the Museum of Children's Literature, which is preparing an exhibition and conference on Zei, will speak and moderate, and the University of Geneva professor and poet Valia Tsaita will participate online.

FRIDAY 3 NOVEMBER
Presentation of the novel "Jeremiah" by Chloe Koutsoubeli, published by Estia. Excerpts will be read by the actress Maria Oikonomou.
"Music on the pages of books"
The author Minas Vintiadis presents his book "A Day with Mozart", which is presented in its theatrical form until Christmas at the Athens Concert Hall. Also, the professor at the Ionian University Zoe Dionysiou presents her book "A journey to rebetiko for children and adults" (co-authored with Gail Holst-Warhaft).Eugenia Zagoura, teacher and President of the Panhellenic Network for Theatre in Education, talks about the performance "The Baglamadaki", based on the above book. Students of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University share their experiences and songs from the performance.

SIDE EVENT: At noon, at 12, the writers will visit the exhibition at the Old Fortress, dedicated to the great Corfiot writer Konstantinos Theotokis, entitled "Indestructible Word".

SATURDAY 4 NOVEMBER
"Greek Literature in the Balkans. Reality Perspectives"
Two translators and excellent literary artists, Ismini Radulovic from Serbia and Angela Bratsou from Romania, discuss with the vice-president of the Society of Thessaloniki Writers Chloe Koutsoubeli and present the current landscape and the future of books in the Balkan countries.
